Expressa verdades universais ou ações habituais

Auxiliar (Do/don’t // Does/doesn’t)

 

Afirmativas: O verbo principal fica normal para (I, you, we, they) e ganha um S nas terceiras pessoas do singular (he, she, it);

Negativas: Aparece o auxiliar DON’T para (I, you, we, they) e o verbo principal perde o S;

                   Aparece o auxiliar DOESN’T para as terceiras pessoas do singular (he, she, it).

Interrogativas: No início da frase aparece o auxiliar Do para (I, you, we, they) e o verbo principal permanece se o S;

                        No início da frase aparece o auxiliar Does para (he, she, it) e o verbo principal fica sem S.

Obs: O verbo principal somente ganha S para (he, she, it) quando a frase é afirmativa.

 

Regras para colocação do S no verbo para as terceiras pessoas

1. Verbos terminados em consoante + Y: retira-se o Y e acrescenta-se IES. Ex. Fly = flies // Cry = cries

2. Verbos terminados em S, SH, CH, X, O: acrescenta-se ES. Ex. Kiss = Kisses // Do = does

O auxiliar “has (ter)” é usado para He, she, it.

2. Negativa: Have = haven’t // Has = hasn’t

3. Interrogativa: não se abrevia.
