Expressa ações que tiveram inicio no passado e vem desenvolvendo continuamente até o momento presente

Auxiliar (Have been/has been + verb/ing)

 

Usamos o auxiliar “have” para I, you, we, they; usamos “has” para he, she, it.

Coloca-se o verbo principal no contínuo (gerúndio) colocando-se o –ING [= -nado]. Ex. Love = amar // loving = amando

2. Negativa: Have been = haven’t been // Has been = Hasn’t been

3. Interrogativa: não há abreviação

Regras para colocação do –ING nos verbos:

1. Verbos terminados em E = elimina-se o E e acrescenta-se ING. Ex. Live = living // Change = changing

2. Verbos monossílabos terminados em C+V+C: repete-se a consoante final e acrescenta-se –ING.

Ex. Run = running // Stop = stopping

3. Verbos dissílabos terminados em C+V+C com a última sílaba tônica = repete-se a consoante final e acrescenta-se –ING. Ex. Occur = occurring // Prefer = preferring

Expressa ações que se realizaram no passado, mas não se prolongam no presente.

Auxiliar (Had been + verb/ing)

 

Usamos o auxiliar “had” para todos os sujeitos;

Coloca-se o verbo principal no contínuo (gerúndio) colocando-se o –ING [= -nado]. Ex. Love = amar // loving = amando
