Como muitos outros verbos em Inglês, o verbo Take é usado em varias expressões.

Take a break	Fazer uma pausa- You are working too much.Take a break and have a coffee. Voce esta trabalhando demais.Faça uma pausa e tome um café
Take a chance	Arriscar – Sometimes we have to take a chance to go forward. Às vezes temos que arriscar para ir em frente.
Take a course	Fazer um curso- Next year I’ll take an English course. No ano que vem farei um curso de Inglês
Take a leak / piss	Urinar , mijar- I’ve drank to much beer and I need to take a leak. Tomei muita cerveja e preciso urinar(mijar)
Take a look	Dar uma olhada- Take a look at my new car. Do you like it? Dê uma olhada no meu carro novo. Você gosta?
Take a nap	Tirar uma soneca – On Sundays it is wonderful to take a nap after lunch. Aos domingos é maravilhoso tirar uma soneca após o almoço.

Take a shower	Tomar um banho – All I want on a Friday afternoon is to get home and take a shower. Tudo que quero numa sexta feira a tarde é chegar em casa e tomar um banho.
Take a taxi  (bus,train, ect.)	Pegar um taxi (avião, onibus)-Take a táxi to the airport to take the plane toUSA. Pegue uma taxi até o aeroporto para pegar o avião para os EUA
Take a test	Fazer um exame – I need to take a blood test to check my health. Preciso fazer um exame de sangue para verificar minha saúde. Next week I’ll take a test to get into the university. Semana que vem vou fazer um teste para entrar na universidade.
Take a trip	Fazer uma viagem – I’ll take a trip to England on my vacation. Farei uma viagem à Inglaterra em minhas férias.

Take into consideration	Levar em consideração – Before you change your job, take in consideration all the aspects of it. Antes de trocar de emprego, leve em consideração todos os aspectos disso
Take it as...	Supor, aceitar como… - Ok, I’ll take it as a “Yes”. OK, aceitarei isso como um “sim”

Take part	Fazer parte, participar – Athletes love to take part in the Olympic Games. Atletas adoram fazer parte dos Jogos Olímpicos.
Take place	Acontecer, ocorrer. – The net Soccer World Cup will take place in Germany. A próxima Copa Mundial da Futebol vai acontecer na Alemanha
